It's probably the most beautiful song in the world. Mainly because as Thom says, it has no meaning or no conclusion. It's endless, and forever and doesn't entrust you with false hope.

And today at SXSW...

Jack White played a Buddy Holly song outside the Third Man Records bus.

No seriously, this is for real.

PLEASE TAKE FIVE MINUTES OF YOUR TIME TO WATCH THIS.

I'm not living, I'm just wasting time

I swear to God if I had been the person he was staring at to his left for a minute during this song, I literally would've died. You beauty.

Skip Divided is such a sexy song

This isn't from Skip Divided though. This is from The National Anthem when they perform it live. Jonny uses an old video recording as a loop. What a babe.

I've got to go and talk to my business studies teacher about Radiohead soon. I kind of get why but at the same time I kind of don't, as I conveniently copy and pasted Unit 4 onto a USB the very last lesson before I stopped going into school. Irony, yes?
I believe that afterwards I'm going to see some houses with Father. I desperately want to move out into the country, I've been a townie my whole life yet whenever I'm in the country (for whatever peculiar reason that may be) I feel most at home. Make sense, no?

THE LATITUDE LINE UP IS PROBABLY THE WORST LATITUDE LINE UP I HAVE EVER SEEN. SUCKERS.

To tell you the truth, I don't even know why I'm off school at the moment, or acting as I am.
I get like this when I'm on my own and not around anybody, particularly my dad. As soon as I'm put back into a 'real life' scenario though, my dreadful uncomfortableness resumes.
I think now, I would only be content if I lived in the countryside with a big dog, I just happened to bump into Thom, I never had to go back to school or question college ever again and finish my very large canvas to a high quality.
Unfortunately, I have a bed of work to do. No, literally. I've sprawled out all of the work I should be doing across my bed. There's not a great deal to do. It's mainly the art which I know will be most time consuming and frustrating. God I cannot wait until GCSE's are over.
The main problem I have with art is that I love the prospect of decorating my feature wall with badly painted canvases, however the idea of doing something for an art 'GCSE' really puts me of. Gah, isn't it all a bit awkward?

I've just realised that I've spent the entire day looking like Jonny Greenwood.

I can't really say I'm complaining though. Because Jonny Greenwood is great. More than great in fact.

Know that the I Might Be Wrong recording of Like Spinning plates is fucking mesmerising. Far better than the original, I'm sure my boys would agree.

ah ah ah aha ah ahah ahaha aha ha ah hha ha

Thom makes trumpets sexy. Very sexy. I am not ashamed to admit my shallowness. But just OMG at the scatting....

Moving swiftly on. I'm totally buying my Lotus Flower dance T-Shirt tomorrow, even if it's the last thing I do.
Now I'm going to buy the I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings album on ye olde iTunes. It made no.4 on NME's top live albums. Which is pretty good I guess. But then no, it should be better. It has Idioteque on it for fucks sake.

Mish/mash

YOU KNOW THAT:
DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979
MICK JAGGER
"After months of speculation it looks like Kate Moss and Jamie Hince are finally set to marry, we read. The Kills man apparently popped the question to Moss while the couple were in bed on Tuesday night (February 1). Ever the romantic, he waited until the lights were off before surprising her with the announcement. Moss has supposedly quipped that she is going to be the most famous Kate to marry this year – eclipsing a certain Ms Middleton's wedding to Prince William (The Sun)."
The rawest, most nervous Jack & Meg I have ever seen.. "Then, after the second show, Jack White decided he wanted to have some fun, and followed a group of us (including future NME editor Krissi Murison, who gave him a lift) to an indie club in central London. Once there he bought us drinks, chatted to amazed fans and gyrated to Justin Timberlake's 'Like I Love You' on the dancefloor. It was beyond surreal."

Contrary to my initial reaction, I am not one of those people who feels that The White Stripes are dead. Neither am I one of those people who feels like they are one of the only bands to ever disband purely on artistic bases. I mean think about it, The White Stripes have supposedly been in the recording studio for the past year. If this is true than what Jack White said about releasing unreleased White Stripes material is just a bit of a fix to boost sales for their new material. (We've already seen their most recent release of Under Great White Northern Lights sales boost by 2,644% due to their split) The only difference is that the future released material won't be followed up by any live appearances - for the next few years anyway... So yes, farewell for now White Stripes, I have no doubt I will seeing more of you in the future.
P.s, I want nothing more than for you to prove me wrong about the Janus accusations.

I wanna go down to Nashville

Ch ch changes!

  • I ate too much bread tonight, hense now I feel sick.
  • I also shouldn't drink at 10:00 in the morning when feeling faint.
  • I should perhaps stop sleeping for 3 hours when I get back from school, as it makes it all the more difficult to get to sleep at night.
  • Finally, I need to stop caring.
My grammar interview was scary. I'm pretty sure I redefined 'waffle'. Seriously, I have never heard so much bull shit come out of someones mouth.

I'm one of the few people out there who didn't think that last nights skins was a complete travisty. Personally, I found it perhaps a little too restrained, that being said I still quite liked it. I love Frankie and can't wait to see more of her character being developed. However I dislike the fact that just because she wears no make up, has a comb over and wears suits she is some freaky lezza social douchebag who everybody (including the vast majority of viewers) HATES. I dislike that mainly for the reason that I have been known on occassion to go out with no make up, a comb over and wearing a suit that would make hurts weak at the knees. What ya'll chattin about? I think she's nice. Not a fugly boy.

I was dissappointed to find out that Jersey Shore isn't on DVD yet. I desperately need the second series but according to HMV guy (love that guy, he's a legend) series 1 hasn't even made its way onto DVD in the UK!

Adele is fucking amazing.

Chemistry exam didn't go that badly.

Not gonna lie, this is pretty fucking hot.

I'm going to marry Adele.
I'm too tired to type about how annoying these bitches are. Ha, I feel like Kanye when I say that! Obviously I'm referring to Ricky Gervais' awful puns at the Golden Globes: while introducing Robert Downey Jr - "Many of you in this room probably know him best from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County Jail." I mean talk about a low blow. Leave the frankly overrated Sherlock alone!

Suppose the only relevant news is that I'm having a party at my place on Saturday. I'm gonna say BYOB just cos it's easier, but they'll be quite a bit o' toxic substances there I would imagine.. so yeah, don't really give a shit who wants to come. Just so long as you're not the absolute cunt. Oh, and no haters please. Should be a laugh, usually is.

This is a low (down)

First of, I think it's brilliant how you can get less than 50% on a higher paper and still get a B. This is music to my ears as far as my chemistry exam tomorrow is concerned.

But yes, I haven't really had time to post this week due to music lessons, revision, art and a bit more revision. This week has been awful. I finished three sketch books in the space of around 6 hours for art. My art teacher gave me some well deserved recongition for this, as some of the pages were surprisingly well thought out for me! Then I had my biology exam. If you'd asked me how I thought I was going to do on Monday I probably would've laughed in your face. However, after my revision session with Mr. Jordan on Tuesday I was far more confident. Then come the day of the exam I think it went rather swimingly. I mean let's not get carried away here, I doubt it did that amazingly. However, I reckon I exceeded a pass, which is good enough for me!

"you know when you just know that you did utterly shit. Not even in a 'let's just pretend to act really surprised if I do well' thing. Just a general 'I did shit.'" this is honestly how I felt about my English results right up until I saw the little letter on the piece of paper and I just shouted FUCK OFF?! I was generally that shocked at how well I'd done. Literally.

Earlier I went to some guitar unit at the Cowdray Centre with my singing teacher and papa. It was like a mini masterclass in how you know whether your guitar is in good condition or not. My singing teachers partner who just so happens to work there went through what needed adjusting to stop the strings snapping. He did this without being condescending or degrading about any of it. Which was lovely because if you ask these sought of things at Manns Music they practically laugh in your face. But yes, my baby went on the operating table and I was with her every step of the way. I went home knowing how to restring a guitar and lemon scented guitar.

Now, after a drive and some shopping, I'm sat doing some Chemistry revision. I'm not too nervous about my exam tomorrow after seeing the mark scheme and what not.

Nine days til my birthday and eight days til Gossip Girl starts! Yesterday my dad and my sister went to Brick Lane to get me some birthday presents. I've told anyone getting me anything to literally get me anything. This year I am completely open to surprises. This mainly being due to my attention being drawn to whether my birthday party will be a pulpable hit, or not?

Oh and finally some awesome news! I'm in the recording studio on the 23rd of Feb! AT A MASSIVE DISCOUNT!

(Alex James is sooo cute)

T-E-N-D-E-R-O-N-I

I get tongue tied

"THERE'S GOING TO BE NO FUCKING AROUND LONDON" - Kele, quote of the night.

I could've given you everything you wanted..

These are the only videos I could find that had been filmed by people on the night!

So yeah, you get the gist of it, right?
Basically I saw Kele on Friday at the Electric Ballroom with sister of mine and Sparish.
The venue itself is amazing! When I'm 'of the age' I am so going to go there 'clubbing', it's incredible! I think it's because the venue is in the heart of Camden and is ridiculously punky/rocky/dark/dingy etc. There's pictures of Mick Jagger and the gang all over the shop, so you could say it's my sort of scene.

So the actual gig itself exceeded my expectations ten fold. Summer Camp rolled up to support which was a pleasant surprise because me and sister of mine had previously seen them at Camp Bestival. Their music is very very very pop orientated with a girl and a guy tapping constantly on their synth boards (musical instruments ((if that's what you can call them)) which I usually detest).
Then came on the main act, Kele. He's ability to get the crowd pogoing and dancing is amazing. I love him. Don't get me wrong, Bloc party are better and the songs that he intergrated into his set list from his predeccsor band went down a lot better, however, his solo stuff is flawless live. Absolutely awesome!

SHALLOWNESS TIME!
It's that time again ladies & gentleman, brace yourselves. But yes, oh yes, I GRABBED KELE MULTIPLE TIMES THAT NIGHT. I even stroked his stubble, which I am quite proud of. I could've stolen his hat, but then I thought that would of been mean, Kele's way to cool to have his hat taken away. In summary, no sexual innuendos intended: why are all the good guys gay?

Food for thought:
“It was amazing when Jack White said it wasn’t his job to be critical about foreign policy because he was being paid to be an entertainer. I thought that was treacherous because it’s complicit with the capitalist society... Selling more records is the only thing that’s important to him, not provoking debate.” - Kele on Jack White.
I can remember when this first came out. At the time I was pissed off because he'd offended Mr.White, plus I was a less intelligent thirteen year old. But now I read it and think, too true Kele, too true.

Sacrificial Lamb

Never, opt to take an extra Textiles GCSE.
Well actually, that's a lie, I would say do it if you have Bernard's Watch. Unfortunately however, I do not possess this. Therefore in hindsight it probably wasn't the smartest move.. never mind though, ay?!
I really want one of these

BUT ONTO GORILLAZ FROM TUESDAY NIGHT!

Best intro to any gig, ever.

This sounded amazing.

This was flawless.

This was just fucking mental... hello Damon from blur!

Who wouldn't want to be Little Dragon here? I know you qualify in age to be my father, but I'm deeply in love with you, Damon..

But yes, musically speaking of course, Gorillaz are blooming awesome live and I would highly recommend them to anyone who feels like joining us at the World of the Plastic Beach.

Time

It's nearing that time for essential cram revision, mainly for my Chemistry retakes. I literally have no idea what any of it means.

-

So commencing next Tuesday lunch time is Russian club. There is a God up there. I've wanted to learn Russian for so long now! And I dare say that I will be if not the only one then only among a few brave enough to show up.

I would actually rather be at school right now opposed to sitting in front of this mac at home. I feel slightly nauseous.

This 'acoustic' video made me feel better too I guess.
Who doesn't like hurts? Take your fucking shirt off.

I'm starting to get a head cold. Time for some turnip soup. Actually scrap that, BED.
[There's no filter between my brain and my fingers typing this by the way] Ooh, according to my hand I love Ringo Starr. Nice one. Night.

Monday, 25 October 2010

Oh what a night.

That was quite literally the messiest gig I've ever been to. How I'm not laying in a hospital bed, God only knows.

Crystal Castles are in my top 3 best live bands for sure.
Who doesn't want Alice Glass in their pants?

Me and Chrissie at this point were at the eye of the storm... (basically no man's land in the middle of the pits): GOOD TIMES.
