DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979
MICK JAGGER
"After months of speculation it looks like Kate Moss and Jamie Hince are finally set to marry, we read. The Kills man apparently popped the question to Moss while the couple were in bed on Tuesday night (February 1). Ever the romantic, he waited until the lights were off before surprising her with the announcement. Moss has supposedly quipped that she is going to be the most famous Kate to marry this year – eclipsing a certain Ms Middleton's wedding to Prince William (The Sun)."
The rawest, most nervous Jack & Meg I have ever seen.. "Then, after the second show, Jack White decided he wanted to have some fun, and followed a group of us (including future NME editor Krissi Murison, who gave him a lift) to an indie club in central London. Once there he bought us drinks, chatted to amazed fans and gyrated to Justin Timberlake's 'Like I Love You' on the dancefloor. It was beyond surreal."
Contrary to my initial reaction, I am not one of those people who feels that The White Stripes are dead. Neither am I one of those people who feels like they are one of the only bands to ever disband purely on artistic bases. I mean think about it, The White Stripes have supposedly been in the recording studio for the past year. If this is true than what Jack White said about releasing unreleased White Stripes material is just a bit of a fix to boost sales for their new material. (We've already seen their most recent release of Under Great White Northern Lights sales boost by 2,644% due to their split) The only difference is that the future released material won't be followed up by any live appearances - for the next few years anyway... So yes, farewell for now White Stripes, I have no doubt I will seeing more of you in the future.
P.s, I want nothing more than for you to prove me wrong about the Janus accusations.
