Mish/mash

YOU KNOW THAT:
DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979
MICK JAGGER
"After months of speculation it looks like Kate Moss and Jamie Hince are finally set to marry, we read. The Kills man apparently popped the question to Moss while the couple were in bed on Tuesday night (February 1). Ever the romantic, he waited until the lights were off before surprising her with the announcement. Moss has supposedly quipped that she is going to be the most famous Kate to marry this year – eclipsing a certain Ms Middleton's wedding to Prince William (The Sun)."
The rawest, most nervous Jack & Meg I have ever seen.. "Then, after the second show, Jack White decided he wanted to have some fun, and followed a group of us (including future NME editor Krissi Murison, who gave him a lift) to an indie club in central London. Once there he bought us drinks, chatted to amazed fans and gyrated to Justin Timberlake's 'Like I Love You' on the dancefloor. It was beyond surreal."

Contrary to my initial reaction, I am not one of those people who feels that The White Stripes are dead. Neither am I one of those people who feels like they are one of the only bands to ever disband purely on artistic bases. I mean think about it, The White Stripes have supposedly been in the recording studio for the past year. If this is true than what Jack White said about releasing unreleased White Stripes material is just a bit of a fix to boost sales for their new material. (We've already seen their most recent release of Under Great White Northern Lights sales boost by 2,644% due to their split) The only difference is that the future released material won't be followed up by any live appearances - for the next few years anyway... So yes, farewell for now White Stripes, I have no doubt I will seeing more of you in the future.
P.s, I want nothing more than for you to prove me wrong about the Janus accusations.

RIP

I can't stop crying. More in shock than anything else. Not only have The White Stripes split up, but doesn't it sort of feel like the end of an era? Anyway. I'm not in the mood to write to be honest with ya'll, just watch the video (particulary the ending) which just basically sums up everything.

I love you White Stripes.

Do you have any idea how horrible it all is?

I haven't posted in a while because I've had more pressing things to do..
[Enter long passage on yesterday's events here]
There's one part of last night though that really did make me happy with life. And that was the fact that I could so easily ask my best friend sister to come and help me out. I know it sounds rather cliche and what not but that girl is like an angel sent from heaven to me. Like a fairy godmother, I stopped breaking down and just concentrated on being good.

Today I went into town for a bit with Amy and Jeff. I'm rather fond of the new and improved Topshop, the floor space is so much better now! Although having said this, I doubt I'll ever buy anything in there. Also, when my dear Amy decided we need go to the fabric shop it made me realise how much I don't want to go into fashion like she has. I mean she's amazing and everything so it's no surprise really, but I just don't understand the process of making clothes. It really confuses me. I just want to make them how I see them, and as simply as possible. None of this fancy talk. If I went into fashion, which I doubt I will, I reckon I'd either want to be a fashion buyer or have a creative director type roll. In the meantime however, I'm sticking to getting good grades for my GCSE's and entirely focusing on my songwriting. And not under any circumstances let one ridiculously awful performance at live lounge yesterday put me off

I haven't actually mentioned one of the most enticing parts of this whole weekend though. Father Lee is in New York! And I'm not! I never thought I'd miss yet love having him away so much. I love having to do all the chores and cook for myself. But equally I hate not having someone there to talk to and go cruising with. I wish him luck for his marathon tomorrow and cannot wait to see him revived and alive on Tuesday!
