"Started off all well and good, ended up high & dry."

Last night was a bit crazy. Started off all well and good, ended up high & dry. Not sure what that means; read what you like into it. But yes, the usual homesickness and boredom soon sunk in so it wasn't too long before midnight that I was all tucked up with a cup of FL tea watching Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, laughing at the true irony of the world.

Enough on that jazz.
This morning I went into town to buy Christmas presents for the cool cats: Jenny, Emily, Chrissie and India. I completely fail at buying presents which can be taken seriously. I also managed to get some dye (Yes I'm planning on having a Textiles revolution after this post) for the Monet final piece I want to do.

I have some ideas about how to go about this. Maybe start of with the initial blue and yellow dying of some fabric. Then add some distressed stitching to represent the outline of the stalks and petals. Basically, I want it to follow in the footsteps of Carolyn Saxby. So I shall be piling on the glitter, beads, paper lame', chiffon and anything else that looks remotely vibrant. I'm debating whether to do an 'Art Quilt'. Batik is out of the question. I don't have a steady enough hand. But equally, the one time I have used quilting in my textiles, it resulted in near disaster. So maybe not? Who knows. I'll sketch out some plans later.

I'm cooking later! Oh yes! I'm so excited! I made dinner Friday night for me and Jeff too. God I love turkey legs. (This will bring me onto Florida soon). I've got all the correct ingredients, apart from the fact I got chicken breast instead of chicken chunks. But that's no matter. Also, I purposely didn't buy any spring onions to put in the sauce. I basically hate onions unless they're in a hot dog. So yes, better start on the chicken as it needs to be left to marinate with the lime for at least an hour. I'll give you 411 on how every thing's going.

Father Lee has just finished assembling the £15 Ikea table which is about to clutter my room. However it does mean that I actually have a decent sized work top to do my art work on now. Which is exactly what I'm going to go and do now.

I'll give you the review of the dinner, X Factor updates, Textiles lowdown and holiday news later on. For now I leave you with an absolutely stunning performance from the lovely Liverpudlian Rebecca Ferguson
