However, we all know how utterly obserdly untrue this is due to startling evidence from stunning female artists such as Rachel Whiteread, Cindy Sherman, Tracy Emin, Sonia Delaunay, Paula Rego, Louise Bourgeoise, Hannah Hoch, Jenny Holzer, Lisa Milroy, Jenny Saville and Suzanne Valadon to name a few...

I suppose part of it is the ulterior feminist within me; it's highly annoying to constantly be admiring the work of a predominantly male based industry that is Art!
Practically though, none of this makes any sense. As within people I personally know, men have no interest in art whatsoever. It is considered to be a rather 'femme' subject in actual fact. None of this changes the fact that men seem to produce far more renowned pieces of work though...
Anyway, I leave you with this: proof that Female pop art is just as good as male pop art (i.e Andy 'fucking' Warhol).
