R A N T

oh and apparently if you post Radiohead and thOm on your tumblr you can't post any fashion either. fuck you haters, who says i can't spam christopher kane's resort, pictures of editorial gaga AND at the same time pictures of thOm yorke.

i think that thOm would be more pissed off with people who choose to only like the things he likes and ignore everything else as well as only liking him and the rest of radiohead's music.
he can be quite an opinionated person and i'm sure he'd be pretty fucking annoyed if there were radiohead droids so to speak who didn't dare question their judgement and have their own opinions, not ones based on him.
i know that ed has no time for downloading album leaks, but hey ed, so what if i'm an impatient fan who can't resist the temptation to listen to it plus i don't want to conform to consumerism because it's destroying our planet.
99% of my itunes library is kosher music that's been purchased completely legally, but i won't deny that i have a few torrents on there. i don't really understand the arguement against it, as it seems to be falling apart. gig ticket sales are down for the first time in over a decade, so maybe in some macarb way downloading music illegally is more likely to spread the sound of artists. if i was a successful artist i would be thrilled that people were going to such lengths to get hold of my album before its release date, not whining like a baby that i'm not getting a few extra quid that the record label had promised me.
the whole arguement in general just supports consumerism one way or another. surely it's more important that people are actually listening to music? who gives one about how you get hold of it?
i can wear the hat that i'm a decent, respectful fan who wants to wait until the music is released because i am not a thief etc but HAIL TO THE THIEF BABY. sure, i could do that, i've been doing that for the last 15 years, but no one's going to give you a fucking medal for it and my conscience doesn't mind, it can handle a spot of torrenting from time to time for the greater good.

the funny thing is is that never have i downloaded a torrent without either deleting it because i've realised the album is shit (for example 'suck it and see') or gone out and bought the actual hard copy of it (for example 'consolers of the lonely' or 'californication')
so yeah, this whole arguement has just become invalidated
good bye
